# Cash

> Collect cash at the counter or at the door with @fire-spark/payments-cash.

Cash is collected by staff. The cash tender stays `IDLE` until the store marks it paid.

## Requirements

* No provider contract, hardware, or credentials.
* Works in every channel (app, web, kiosk, call center). JavaScript only, no native module.

## Activate it

In the dashboard, open your merchant, go to **Payments**, and create a payment with the provider **Fire spark** and the method **Cash**. Choose the stores and channels where it applies. Cash has no configuration fields and no device fields.

`payIntent({ payment })` places one real cash tender. `collect_at` comes from `cashCollectAt` (`COUNTER` or `DOOR`). To split cash with another method, call `order.setTenders` with an allocation and then `payIntent()`. ## What the customer sees

The channel shows its own "pay at the counter" or "pay on delivery" message. The adapter result metadata includes `attempt_reference`. Cash `details` can record `tendered` and `change`. There is no voucher.
